Reflections from the Aotearoa New Zealand Immunisation Conference 2025
The biennial conference and pre-conference workshop organised by the Immunisation Advisory Centre (IMAC) was held on 3 to 5 September 2025 in Hamilton. The 2-day conference featured five plenary and three concurrent sessions covering a wide array of topics, from governance and global coverage challenges to vaccine schedule optimisation and equity.
For PHANZ members and the wider public health community, the conference highlighted both the challenges and opportunities in strengthening immunisation as a key tenet of public health, rebuilding trust, and addressing inequities in Aotearoa and globally.
PHANZ Policy Subcommittee members Dr Oz Mansoor, Medical Officer of Health, National Public Health Service, Tairāwhiti and Associate Professor Nadia Charania, Auckland University of Technology, attended the conference and provided the following summary (report available to download below).
