PHANZ VAX CHATS WEBINAR – DR MAMAEROA DAVID
Dr Mamaeroa David - E Toru Nga Mea Nui – Three Important Things for Immunisation in Aotearoa
In this webinar, Dr Mamaeroa David (Senior Māori Medical Advisor, Immunisation Advisory Centre) explores holistic approaches to immunisation, drawing on the legacy of Dr Leo Buchanan, a Māori paediatrician and Taranaki descendant, and using three items that were buried with him – a blanket, his stethoscope, and some toys – as powerful metaphors for tamariki health and wellbeing.
This webinar is part of the PHANZ’s new webinar series, Vax Chats, which bring together experts, practitioners, and community voices to explore the future of immunisation in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Vax Chats provides a forum to discuss key issues, innovations, challenges, and success stories in vaccination – from equity and access, to community engagement, workforce development, and policy priorities. Each session features presenters sharing their insights and expertise, followed by Q&A.
The recording of the webinar is available on the Feature Webinars section of the PHANZ website.
