Sponsor the PHA Annual Conference

The PHA Annual Conference is the highest profile public health event of the year. Hundreds of public health professionals gather to share their work, network and hear from leaders in the sector. The 2017 conference Valuing Connections, Connecting Values - Ō Tātou Kaha, Ō Tātou Pae Ora will take place in Ōtatahi Christchurch on 2-4 October 2017. 

We have a range of partnership opportunities available throughout the conference. Our partners are critical to the success of our conferences. As a conference partner, you will have the opportunity to lift awareness of your brand and services through inclusions in our regular email newsletters, acknowledgments on our website and, of course, throughout the conference itself.

This is an opportunity to connect with public health leaders and managers working in government agencies, non-profit organisations, commercial organisations, and universities. The focus is on place and environments, people and communities, knowledge and wellbeing, as we work to continue building a healthier, stronger, connected Aotearoa New Zealand.

The New Zealand public health workforce consists of more than 20,000 people, including public health doctors and nurses, health promoters, health protection officers, researchers, policy analysts, managers and more. This diverse workforce is brought together by a desire to promote and protect the wellbeing of all New Zealanders.

Our annual conference attracts around 300 leaders from New Zealand and beyond. This year, we will be exploring the healthful connections between the environment, people, places, decision-making, actions, and outcomes. Our delegates will gather, share and learn about how we can collectively impact on social and environmental issues in creating healthier communities across New Zealand.

We are also delighted to take this opportunity to introduce the 2018 Population Health Congress, a joint initiative of the PHAthe Health Promotion Forum and the College of Public Health Medicine. This significant event in 2018 will further shape the wellbeing of our nation. The 2018 congress will be followed by the 2019 International Union for Health Promotion and Education conference in Rotorua.

2017 will see the third PHA Māori Public Health Symposium. These exciting events are always oversubscribed. Originally funded by the JR McKenzie Trust, the Māori Public Health Symposia have provided a platform for emerging Māori public health leaders to showcase their work, to learn from one another and to network at a national level.

Advertise in our electronic newsletters

The public health workforce in New Zealand includes more than 20,000 workers in a range of roles. Our free public health newsletters are an ideal means of reaching people from more than 40 public health related disciplines.

We provide an advertising service to organisations and partners that support our aims and values. The adverts cover job vacancies, conferences, seminars and courses relating to public health and health promotion.

After the advert has been sent out, a tax invoice will be sent to the email address nominated in your email. The cost of advertising on each of our newsletters is $250 (GST exclusive).

Instructions for adverts

  • 100-200 words of job/event description for the website, one image (jpeg).
  • Closing date
  • Website/application link

Please email comms@pha.org.nz with the details, including invoice details and your advert. Please indicate whether the advertisment should feature in The Bulletin, Whiria te Tangata, PolicySpot or Public Health Matters (weekly). 

You can subscribe to our newsletters online, The Bulletin is only available to PHA members.

Advertise in The Lens, the PHA Journal

The Lens is our print and electronic journal. We publish this two to three times a year. The Lens is distributed free at major public health events and through our electronic networks.

The latest edition of The Lens focused on housing, you can download a copy.

Each edition of The Lens can be sponsored by a strategic partner. We also accept advertising that fits with the editorial focus and policy. Contact us to find out about our plans for the next edition of The Lens.

Partner with the PHA

The PHA runs local and national events throughout the year. These include policy and submission workshops, social media and media training, public health lectures and ad hoc training events. These events are all advertised nationally through our website, newsletters, branch meetings and networks. We welcome interest in sponsoring individual and ongoing events.
