The PHA - an informed, collaborative and strong advocate for public health.

 

PHA Branches

conference scenePHA branches conduct regular seminars in their regions on a wide variety of topics. They act locally on public health issues and organise activities. Branch members also undertake advocacy tasks such as preparing submissions on behalf of the PHA.

The Māori Caucus

There are now more than 50 Māori members of the PHA. Major events organised by the Māori Caucus have included:

  • the 2003 PHA conference held at the Turangawaewae Marae in Ngaruawahia
  • Māori Workforce Development Hui held in Auckland in February 2004.
  • Māori Workforce Development Hui held in Rotorua in September 2008

The Māori Caucus is represented by three members on the PHA's Executive Council.
